DISRUPTHR wellington - Back Again in LATE 2024!
I am a co-organisor of DisruptHR WGTN and we’ve now run six successful events since 2020, the latest in March 2024 at Parliament. The premise is simple - 12 speakers, each with 20 slides and five minutes to speak. You can view each of the five minute presentations here including my own on why I think HR needs disrupting and why we need to put a bit of punk spirit into HR. Our next event is scheduled for late 2024 (tickets on sale soon). If you want to get involved as a speaker or volunteer for future events, get in touch.
LEAD WITH LESS PODCAST - EPISODE 46: TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR CAREER
I was recently interviewed by my good friend and former colleague, Tash Pieterse for her Lead with Less podcast.
I’m a firm believer that mentoring is one of the best ways to move your career forward and we had a wide ranging conversation about it and the advantage that mentoring has on building your career.
Across my 20+ year career in HR, mentoring has been something I have been part of for most of it, and I share all my thoughts, tips, and strategies in Tash’s latest podcast episode.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- How mentorship empowers career growth
- The foundations of a successful mentoring relationship
- Practical strategies for seeking out the right mentors
- The impact of talent development programs
- Why advocating for your development needs is crucial
Give it a listen and let me know what you think. No matter what level you’re at, mentoring is one of the best things you can do. https://www.tashpieterse.com/podcasts/lead-with-less/episodes/2148632404. You can also find the podcast on either Spotify or Apple. And if you know someone who could benefit from this episode, please share it with them!
